About Maddie’s Small Table

Cooking has always been a passion of mine. When I was growing up, weekends meant hours of the Food Network — my version of Saturday morning cartoons. Rachael Ray’s 30 Minute Meals was my absolute favorite at the age of four; I proudly told everyone that one day, I’d be her.

My teachers were the stars of early 2000s Food Network: Alton Brown, Ina Garten, Giada De Laurentiis, Emeril Lagasse, and of course, Rachael Ray. They taught me everything from how to build flavor to how to have fun in the kitchen.

I’ve always loved to experiment in the kitchen. When I was ten, I tried to make ravioli from scratch — completely on my own. After more than fifteen years of cooking, learning, and growing, my family and friends encouraged me to share what I create — and that’s how Maddie’s Small Table was born.

My hope is to make cooking feel less intimidating and more accessible, no matter the size of your household. When I first moved out on my own, I thought cooking for one meant eating the same thing all week — wrong! With a little creativity, you can reuse the same ingredients to make a variety of fresh, exciting meals.

Here at Maddie’s Small Table, you’ll find recipes for one or two people — occasionally with some leftovers — and always simple enough to multiply if needed.

Pull up a chair – there’s always room at the small table.
